About Me
Hey Everyone !
I am Phalguni Kataria, a graphic designer still being nurtured. I am pursuing my final year in Bachelor of Visual Arts (Graphic Design) at La Trobe University, Bendigo Australia.
My motto in life is "If one wants pearls, one has to dive deep into the ocean or be content with the pebbles on the shore!". Design gives me the opportunity to experiment, to be innovative and to find my own means of communicating.
I am one such person who always ensures that I am occupied with some kind of an activity because sitting ideal and wasting time is something, I can't tolerate. In short, a versatile person with an optimistic outlook and never die spirit. The source behind my motivation is my family and friends, who have been extremely supportive of me in all circumstances and have inculcated the culture of sharing and reaching out to help others, in me.
I am a pass out of Ryan International School, which is counted amongst the best schools in India. It was my creative and analytical bend of mind that made me incline towards graphic design and brought me to Australia.
Communication has made this world shrink into a small place. So communication needs to be apt and right information is required to reach out to the masses. Graphics help in communication as well as in the presentation of information. Luring people with the help of graphics; besides giving them the exact knowledge is a very challenging and tedious task. I need to make things that connect in a meaningful, useful, evocative way to others, and I like to indulge in the sensuousness of the material world. I learned that I could use design not only to reach into myself and express my own feelings, but also to reach out to others with images and words that are well researched and thought out, condensed and transformed into a communication that could involve everyday folks in our shared public environment.
As a reflection of my creativity, I have often felt abundance of curiosity in me. And I am often very reluctant to accept someone else's habits or customs. I want to understand how communication works, and I am not timid about trying out my ideas on my family and friends. I am interested in the visual interpretation of abstract ideas. I draw, I read, I experiment, and I make things. But still I want to explore more cultures by participating in them, not only by doing things but also by observing the creative work of others, including attending concerts, watching movies, or just paying attention to life as it goes by. I wish to soak up sensory experience and ideas.
